Regular readers of The Coops Review will know that I have a film review slot in my Sunday night programme on The Wireless from Age UK.
This Sunday’s edition will, however, be a little different. I’m reviewing forthcoming British tear-jerker Song For Marion, which opens on Friday, 22nd February. But I’m also interviewing the father of the youngest member of the cast, 10 year old Orla Hill.
Orla plays the granddaughter of the main characters, Arthur and Marion: it’s a pivotal role as she is, as her dad Dave describes it in the interview, “the glue that helps Arthur and his son re-build their relationship.” She also vital to the climax of the film, when Arthur is about to sing a solo. I won’t spoil it for you, but when you see the film, you’ll know what I mean.
So, for some behind-the-scenes insight into the making of the film, tune in to Downtown this Sunday night, 17 February, on The Wireless from Age UK. The programme starts at 9 pm and my Song For Marion review, followed by the interview with Dave Hill, is at 10.20pm.
You can listen either online, via the Age UK website – www.ageuk.org.uk – or on digital radio, if you live in London or Yorkshire.
