Review: Inside Llewyn Davis

Llewyn's following his dream but his life's a nightmare

Llewyn’s following his dream but his life’s a nightmare

The Coen brothers are back, this time with a love letter to the pre-Dylan days of the New York folk music scene.  Inside Llewyn Davis follows the misadventures of the singer of the title, struggling to make a living but doggedly following his dream, even if it means sofa surfing around his friends and sorely trying their patience.

Nostalgic, warm and gently humorous, the film has a first rate central performance from the hitherto unknown Oscar Isaac.  Inside Llewyn Davis opens around the UK this Friday, 24 January, certificate 12A.   And you can read the full review here: https://fredacooper.wordpress.com/2013/10/15/lff-first-looks-inside-llewyn-davis/
