The Coen brothers are back, this time with a love letter to the pre-Dylan days of the New York folk music scene. Inside Llewyn Davis follows the misadventures of the singer of the title, struggling to make a living but doggedly following his dream, even if it means sofa surfing around his friends and sorely trying their patience.
Nostalgic, warm and gently humorous, the film has a first rate central performance from the hitherto unknown Oscar Isaac. Inside Llewyn Davis opens around the UK this Friday, 24 January, certificate 12A.
