Some films just sit up and beg to be ripped to shreds. Last year I had great fun at the expense of Danny Dyer’s thankfully low-key Vendetta. On a bigger scale, this week’s A New York Winter’s Tale takes itself so seriously that I just have to oblige.
Talent and money have clearly been thrown at this adaptation of 1980s best-seller Winter’s Tale, but the result is truly terrible, whether you’ve read the book or not. My review on Filmoria http://www.filmoria.co.uk/2014/02/new-york-winters-tale-review/ catalogues the disasters.
I wonder which cinema chain will be offering a free brown paper bag with every ticket?
A New York Winter’s Tale goes on general release on Friday, 21 February.
