Review: Venus In Fur

Getting the point?

Getting the point?

After filming the four-handed play, Carnage, Roman Polanski has taken an even more minimalist approach to his latest adaptation.  Venus In Fur has a cast of just two.  And, while it takes form of an audition in a theatre, it’s more a battle of the sexes between a director and an actress,  but with the added spice that Mathieu Amalric as the director looks remarkably like Roman Polanski and the actress is played by Emmanuelle Seigner, the real life Mrs Polanski.

So who ends up dominating?  My review for Filmoria might give you one or two clues …..

Venus In Fur opens around the UK today, Friday, 30 May.
