Remember Belle and Sebastian?  It wasn’t that long ago that they were big and the arrival of God Help The Girl is being seen as something of a return.

The film’s directed and written by the band’s front man, Stuart Murdoch.  It’s been floating around in his mind since at least 2003 and the result is a fresh, charming drama with songs, as opposed to the traditional musical format.

God Help The Girl goes on limited release this Friday, 22 August.
